Don't Stop. Keep Going!

My son and I attended a small business pop-up event shortly after launching my business. It was in a small Kansas town that I was not familiar with, and I did not know anyone in the area. The weather was a sweltering 90+ degrees. I had prepared plenty though…a couple of fans, snacks, and water to stay hydrated.

As the event ended, my son and I packed and loaded our items – ready to return to the comfort of my air-conditioned Nissan. We are in the vehicle; I turned the ignition…nothing. My car would not start. I tried again…nothing. Here I am, alone, with my 12-year-old son. I had a talk with the Lord that started something like…” God, really?” I was hot, I was tired, and I was stuck...with a car full of product, in an unfamiliar place.

I take to Google. Trying to determine if it may be a dead battery or an issue with my key fob. I’m trying to figure this out, on my own, and get home. Nothing is working. Frustration is building.

God spoke, “Tonya how are you going to spread a message of faith and not believe”.

OK God.

I know the scripture. Faith without works is dead.

I approached a gentleman and asked if he could assist. He said “no”. Well, what he gave me was a reason he couldn’t, but all I heard was no. I get back in my car, and stare straight ahead. I always have a plan, a solution. I don’t like this…at all. As I’m staring ahead, a pick-up truck drives in front of us, slowing down enough for me to ask for help. Without hesitation, the driver assisted. He mentioned a few items that could be the issue. Step 1, check the battery. He (and his son) gave my battery a jump. Within minutes, I was back up and running. They advised that I not make a stop on my way home or my battery may die again. They stayed and watched until we drove off, making sure we were safe.

My heart was full. I prayed a blessing over them as we made our way home. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness.

When God ignites within you hope, courage, joy…don’t stop, keep going. It may be tempting to stop and visit despair, fear, hopelessness. But you’ve been there. You know it’s a dead end. Stay connected to God’s power. He is with you. Keeping you safe.

With Love,

~Tonya
